Starting School in September 2021

If you have been allocated a place at Layton Primary School we will start the process for Children starting in Foundation Stage

Children that have celebrated their 4th birthday anytime between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021 will be allocated a place at primary school.

Applications for a place at primary school closed earlier this year (15th January 2021).  If you have not applied for a place please click here to be directed to School Admissions.

Parents with children due to start in September have many questions about starting school and if you have applied for a place at Layton Primary we will do our best to guide you through the process of ‘Starting School’.

In the first two weeks of Easter confirmation of places will be sent to parents/carers about which school your child will start at in September.  If you have been allocated a place here with us, first we would be grateful if you would let us know if you are accepting the place offered.  We will then need the Starting School form completing.  This form gives us all the necessary information about your child which is a very important part of the induction process to school.

We have invited parents to come and collect their child’s information pack on 23rd June at the below times.  Click here to read the letter sent out to all parents regarding the change in the Foundation Information event.  The pack will contain lot’s of useful information about starting school and forthcoming dates about when your child will be coming into school.

You can collect your child’s pack on the 23rd June on the following times:

Child’s surname A – G inclusive 3.30 to 4.10pm

Child’s surname H – N inclusive 4.10 to 4.50pm

Child’s surname O – W inclusive 4.50 to 5.30pm
