Sharing into Groups

The children have been busy learning number bonds to 5 and number bonds to 10. We are encouraging the children to share out 5, share out 10 into two groups and record how many they have in each group.

This links to our early learning goal at the end of reception as they need to be able to automatically record number bonds to 5 a number bonds to 10.

Please practise these at home.

E.g.
3 add how many equals 5?
7 add how many equals 10?
What does 4 add 1 make?
How many is 10 – 5?

Your child may need practical equipment such as counters to help them.
