As you may already know, the government has confirmed twice-weekly testing using rapid lateral flow tests will be given for free to all families and households with primary, secondary school and college aged children and young people, including childcare and support bubbles, to help find more COVID-19 cases and break chains of transmission.
At present this is non-compulsory and is an optional measure to help stop the spread of the virus. It may also offer some assurance to families with children attending an educational setting.
Layton Primary, in line with government guidance, will not be testing pupils in school. However, staff have been supplied with the rapid lateral flow tests, so that they can help keep the school community safe.
