Generation Friends 

Some of our year one children have the opportunity to visit the library on a Monday, attending our Generation friends group, which involves meeting some of the people from the local community. The children enjoy participating in various activities such as cutting, colouring, being creative and working together with other children and adults. They often enjoy a story, sometimes in the library garden if weather permits. 

We often have our ‘Generation friend’ volunteers coming into school to share an afternoon tea or Christmas dinner with the children. They enjoy seeing the children in their own environment, sharing the stories they have written and showing them their classrooms, they also enjoy seeing how much the school has changed over the years.
