A sense of Autumn – Week Commencing 04.10.2021

It has been another brilliant week in Year 1!

In Literacy we have been thinking about a sense of Autumn, as it is filled with precious things that can be a real sensory delight. We have taken time to look, listen, taste, smell and feel. We have started writing a poem about Autumn. Watch this space for a performance very soon.

Being  shape detectives discovering different shapes from around the classroom and outside was great fun this week in Maths.  We used a bag to hide shapes, then we used our hands to feel and describe the shape.

We have been artists creating animal collage, using the different techniques of layering or scrunching on the jungle scene that we created last week.

This week we shared an afternoon of sporting activities practicing throwing and catching different objects.

Thank you Year 1 for another fabulous week full of hard work and lots of giggles! Have a lovely weekend.
