Our Results for 2016

Layton Primary School is an exciting place to grow.  We pride ourselves on academic success, the progress our children make from the end of Year 2 (Key Stage One-KS1) to the end of Year 6 (Key Stage Two-KS2) puts our children in the top 3% of schools nationally.

Foundation Stage

  • 2016 - 69.3% of children showed a good level of development

 

Phonics

  • 87.0% of pupils are working at the expected standard in Phonics Y1. This is 6.0% higher than the national average, and 5.5% higher than the average for Outstanding schools. The percentage of pupils at Layton working at the expected standard in Phonics Y1 has increased by an average rate of 12% per year since 2013, which is 3.4 times faster than the national rate of change. Overall, at Layton the percentage working at the expected standard in Phonics Y1 has increased by 24% over the past three years. All groups of pupils are above their respective and corresponding National average for Phonics.
  • The most recent data shows that 99.0% of pupils are working at the expected standard in Phonics Y2. This is 8.0% higher than the national average, and 8.2% higher than the average for Outstanding schools.

 

Key Stage 1 Data

  • The most recent data shows that 99.0% of pupils are working at the expected standard in Phonics Y2. This is 8.0% higher than the national average, and 8.2% higher than the average for Outstanding schools.
  • The most recent data shows that 89.0% of pupils are working at the expected standard for Reading. This is 15.0% higher than the national average.

Trend: When compared with the most similar measure from previous years, % achieving level 2 or above, % achieving the expected standard, this has increased more here this year than in previous years, relative to the national average.  All groups of pupils are above their respective national averages

  • 79.0% of pupils are working at the expected standard for Writing. This is 14.0% higher than the national average.

Trend: When compared with the most similar measure from previous years, % achieving level 2 or above, % achieving the expected standard, this has increased more at Layton this year than in previous years, relative to the national average. All groups of pupils are above their respective national averages

  • 87.0% of pupils are working at the expected standard for Maths. This is 14.0% higher than the national average.

Trend: When compared with the most similar measure from previous years, % achieving level 2 or above, % achieving the expected standard has increased more at Layton this year than in previous years, relative to the national average. One group is achieving below national averages in Maths, which is the SEN support group

 

Key Stage 2 data

  • 89.0% of pupils achieve or surpass the expected standard in Reading. This is 7.0% higher than the school average across core subjects, 23.0% higher than the national average for Reading and 36.0% higher than the national average for all core subjects.
  • 44.0% of pupils achieve or surpass higher standard in Reading. This is 27.0% higher than the school average across core subjects, 25.0% higher than the national average for Reading and 39.0% higher than the national average for all core subjects.
  • 84.0% of pupils are working at or above the expected standard in Writing. This is 2.0% higher than the school average across core subjects, 10.0% higher than the national average for Writing and 31.0% higher than the national average for all core subjects. 21.0% of pupils achieve or surpass higher standard in Writing. This is 4.0% higher than the school average across core subjects, 6.0% higher than the national average for Writing and 16.0% higher than the national average for all core subjects.
  • 97.0% of pupils achieve or surpass the expected standard in Maths. This is 15.0% higher than the school average across core subjects, 27.0% higher than the national average for Maths and 44.0% higher than the national average for all core subjects. At Layton 40.0% of pupils achieve or surpass higher standard in Maths. This is 23.0% higher than the school average across core subjects, 23.0% higher than the national average for Maths and 35.0% higher than the national average for all core subjects.
  • 84.0% of pupils achieve or surpass the expected standard in SPAG. This is 2.0% higher than the school average across core subjects, 12.0% higher than the national average for SPAG and 31.0% higher than the national average for all core subjects.
  • The most recent data shows that 82.0% of pupils achieve at or above the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths. This is 29.0% higher than the national average.
